The Story

The collection blurs the boundary between the second and third dimensions. Every frame has a unique design history: lines emerge from the subtraction of volumes, and sophisticated colour compositions are unveiled through the layering and bevelling of specially developed acetate materials. Some frames appear to be drawn out of thin air, others trick the eye into perceiving impossible closed loops.
Aesthetic tension arises from delightful contrasts, contrasts, such as delicate circles juxtaposed with bold brows, glossy bridges against matte surfaces, and smooth versus raw edges. Though exploring a variety elements, the collection remains anchored to a cohesive, instantly recognisable aesthetic. It is reimagined and translated into new materials and techniques while preserving an unmistakable formal coherence.
Inspired by architecture, the future and geometry, Veronika Wildgruber frames are independent of everything, strong and distinct. Veronika Wildgruber Eyewear made its debut in 2010 with four handcrafted frames. Following their initial presentation at the Silmo show, they promptly earned the Silmo d’Or Special Jury prize, marking an extraordinary achievement. Encouraged by this positive response, Veronika launched the first series production in 2012.
Dedication to quality has been a driving force behind the brand’s organic growth: today the company prides itself on a competent and close-knit team that operates from its office located in the heart of Kreuzberg.
Since its foundation, the company has maintained a strong focus on research and experimentation, reflecting Veronika’s distinctive approach as a product designer. In 2017, Veronika Wildgruber Eyewear was once again honoured with the prestigious Silmo d’Or for Best Design Sunglasses, further solidifying the brand’s reputation for excellence. Building on this success, the Silmo d’Or Premiere Classe prize was added to the collection in 2023, completing a remarkable trio of acknowledgements.
