Ron Arad is an internationally known Architect know for his biomorphic designs. The beautiful shapes and mix of materials make these frames unique, and comfortable. Some of the architectural accomplishments of Ron include;
Arad’s career as a designer began with the Rover chair. He was Head of Design Products Department at the Royal College of Art. Arad designed the bookshelf Bookworm, which was still produced in 2011. In 2005, Arad designed chandeliers for the Swarovski crystal company which if one has the number, can display text messages that are sent to it. He also has had tables that climb walls instead of being centered in the room. Arad’s works are often worked into distinctive biomorphic shapes and are created from his medium of choice, steel.
He designed the Bauhaus Museum in Tel Aviv. He has also planned the Design Museum Holon together with Bruno Asa, which was opened in Israel in 2010. Also in 2010, Arad started his collaboration with New Eye London to design an eyewear collection. In short he is an international designer with a style all his own and we are pleased he has added his talent to the optical world.
